What are Chemical Peels?

Sophie uses AlumierMD products for peel treatments. A chemical peel treatment is used to improve skin texture and tone. An acid is applied to the skin to lower the pH, which loosens the connections between dead skin cells. This exfoliates and stimulates new cell growth. This process causes the superficial layers of the skin to shed, revealing a healthy, smooth, and radiant complexion. AlumierMD products are a light to medium-depth skin peel; therefore, social downtime is typically 0–7 days.

The treatment will encourage skin cells to rejuvenate, thus reducing fine lines, pigmentation, acne, and improving those with rosacea too.

A chemical peel is not painful, but some may feel a warm tingling sensation, and although some may shed some flaky skin, it's unlikely to peel layers of skin, as it is only a mild to moderate-depth peel.
